Several days ago Kicker reported Liverpool were working on getting Naby Keita from RB Leipzig in the January transfer window.
Keita is already set to arrive at Anfield in the summer, with the German media saying the deal is worth €75m, but Kicker explained FSG wanted to get him in now and give the January some more shine after the Coutinho saga.
Following on from that, Bild insisted RB Leipzig would let Keita move to Liverpool this month on one condition: The Premier League club paid an extra €20m, taking the total value of the deal to €95m.
Bild were certain that the move could happen as long as Liverpool paid up, but this weekend RB Leipzig have made it clear publicly that Keita isn’t going anywhere until the summer.
That’s led to another Bild article, which states Liverpool and the German club haven’t been able to agree on the €20m figure. Not wanting the situation to drag on, RB Leipzig decided to go public.
It seems FSG liked the idea of getting Keita in early for Jurgen Klopp, but not enough to pay up.
