Leeds United defender Robin Koch has undergone successful surgery on a hip injury as he battles back from his latest injury.

That’s according to BILD, who say that the defender is hoping to return ‘soon’ for both Leeds and Germany.

The newspaper reports that the 24-year-old underwent successful hip surgery in the USA to repair a small injury to the pubic bone area.

The injury had prevented him from training regularly in recent weeks and meant he missed Leeds last six games, as well as the recent international break.

The operation was performed at the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia by Dr William Meyers, who is an expert in the field and has worked on players from NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB and MLS as well as other sports and Olympic athletes.

Now, ‘nothing’ stands in the way of Koch making a comeback soon, with him set to return to Leeds next week and then the pitch in the ‘coming weeks’.
