Sometimes all it takes is 1228 minutes, at least if you’re Geovany Quenda, who now has Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool following him.
That’s according to O Jogo, who report that Quenda’s latest performances, which they say have seen him compared to Lamine Yamal, have the Premier League quartet keen on him.
Quenda is the new rising starlet of Portuguese football and Sporting Club de Portugal know it, putting him among the most used youngsters under 18 at this point in the season.
He ‘rivals the best’ at his age, such as Yamal and Pau Cubarsí or Estêvão at Palmeiras and the biggest clubs in European football are keeping a close eye on him.
He has two goals and one assist in 18 appearances this season, numbers that place him behind only Yamal and Estêvão, at least when it comes to player’s under 18.
Those appearances only total 1228 minutes in total but Quenda has ‘caught the attention’ of the biggest clubs in Europe including four from the Premier League; Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal. PSG, Juventus, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen can be added to that list.
Quenda is often compared to Yamal, who has six goals and eight assists for Barcelona this season. He’s already been linked with a €250m move to PSG, which the French giants have rejected. Estêvão, meanwhile, is on his way to Chelsea in a big money move next year.
The growing belief is that Quenda will be on his way from Sporting before long too, particularly with Europe watching his development closely.
Whether Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City or Liverpool are the ones to move for him remains to be seen, but they’re certainly among those keeping an eye on him.
