Beşiktaş’ Georges-Kévin Nkoudou struggled during his time at Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs took the winger from Marseille in 2016, when Mauricio Pochettino was in charge of the Premier League side.

Nkoudou ended up making only 27 appearances in all competitions during his time at the north London club.

Lack of opportunities at Tottenham convinced the former Ligue 1 man to join the Turkish club in 2019.

Spurs sacked Pochettino in November 2019 and he returned to management when Paris Saint-Germain appointed him as their new manager in January 2021. The Argentine is joined by his son, Sebastiano, at the French capital club.

Sebastiano was part of his father’s backroom staff at Tottenham as he worked as their fitness coach/sports scientist. He has continued to have the same role at PSG.

Today’s edition of L’Equipe has a report on the work done by Pochettino Jr and they’ve got Nkoudou’s views on Sebastiano

“He is someone passionate, who loves his job. He is determined to be precise, rigorous. He will not shout to achieve his goal, but make you understand the interest of the exercise,” Nkoudou said.

“There is necessarily a restraint because he is the son of the coach but he is someone close to the players.”

When describing Sebastiano, the French outlet states he speaks Spanish, English, French and Italian, understands the ‘new generation’ and is valuable in relaying messages across to the group of players.

The former Southampton manager has been clear about his needs and the standards his son has to maintain to work alongside him.

“Whether he is my son or not, it is the same. He has to prove himself. The people who work with me must have the work capacity that I require,” Mauricio explained.

“If he does not have this capacity for work or the skills, even if he is my son, he will have to go work elsewhere. When it comes to developing a staff, there are no emotions, no feelings, no family ties.”
