Mahmoud Dahoud had a disappointing spell at Brighton & Hove Albion and returned to the Bundesliga in the summer.
The midfielder joined the Seagulls on a free transfer in 2023 and played less than 700 minutes from 14 games for Brighton in the first half of last season, when Roberto De Zerbi was in charge at The Amex.
Brighton let him join VfB Stuttgart on loan in January 2024 before selling him to Eintracht Frankfurt later that year.
Wednesday’s edition of Bild has a report on the 29-year-old’s struggles at his current club. His decision to leave Brighton for Eintracht Frankfurt hasn’t paid off at all. Dahoud clocked in 362 minutes from nine league game, and it includes only three starts.
The former Brighton man was left on the bench in the last two league ties against Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen. He’s been limited to three appearances in this year.
Dino Toppmöller has used Ellyes Skhiri, Oscar Højlund and Hugo Larsson instead of the German despite the latter two being inconsistent.
Bild explain he and his camp are ‘irritated’ with the limited role at Eintracht Frankfurt especially since he ‘gave up a lot of salary’ to leave Brighton.
More prominence is expected, but he’s obviously not showing enough in training to be considered a sure starter.
