Fulham’s Ivan Cavaleiro has admitted he spoke to his Portuguese friends before making a loan move to Alanyaspor.
The forward completed his move to the Turkish side yesterday, signing on a season long loan deal in search of regular playing time this season.
He has found himself out of the picture at Fulham in recent months, spending the end of last season sat on the bench and failing to make a Premier League appearance so far this season.
He’s now moved out to Turkey to bolster Alanyaspor, who current sit 13th in the Super Lig table.
It will be the forward’s first time playing in the country, having spent his career so far in he likes of Portugal, Spain, France and then England with Wolves and Fulham.
Turkey will be a completely different experience to those ones, and he says he’s done his research on the move.
“I spoke to my other Portuguese friends before coming here,” Aksam Spor report him saying at his press conference.
“They gave positive references. I met with our technical director. He talked about the football mentality here.
“I watched some videos. I saw how positive and pleasing to the eye the team plays football. As our president said, there could have been other preferences, but I chose here.
“I will do my best for the success of Corendon Alanyaspor with the power given by my teammates, technical staff and employees with the team phenomenon.”
