It was perhaps inevitable that Michy Batshuayi’s future would be a big topic of discussion in the current transfer window.

The Belgian international joined Chelsea for a big fee from Marseille in the summer but Antonio Conte hasn’t used him as often as would have been expected, even when it’s seemed obvious to give the player a chance.

Despite that, when PSG came knocking 10 days ago, the French club were told that Batshuayi was going nowhere.

They were politely told where to go, with Antonio Conte said to see Batshuayi as the ‘future of Chelsea’.

Talks are said to have resumed talks in ‘recent hours’ but there’s no suggestion Chelsea are softening their position.

Conte is determined and if that remains the case, PSG can talk all they like because their words will land on deaf ears.
