Italian outlet Calciomercato features today a piece about the ‘real revolution’ that Torino will make in the next transfer window to raise some money with sales.
One of the players mentioned in that story is Ola Aina, who’s been loaned by the Serie A side to Fulham at the start of the season.
Calciomercato points out that the Whites would have the right to buy the player on a €12.5m deal due to the clause agreed at the time of the loan.
That, however, is considered ‘unlikely’ in case the Craven Cottage side are relegated to the Championship.
The website says that should Fulham decide not to use the option, then Torino will try to sell Aina for the very same amount to some other interested club.
Aina made 31 appearances for Fulham this season so far, and was Scott Parker’s first choice for the right-back position in all times he was available.
That’s why it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Whites buying him, but with a potential relegation, that would clearly be a downfall in the club’s budget for the next season.
With Torino having big plans to make money, it sounds unlikely they’d agree to a discount, meaning the most likely situation is for the defender to head back to Italy in the coming months.
