Fulham target Willian has now confirmed that he’s leaving Corinthians.
Speaking to ESPN Brasil today, the winger brought a few details about his departure from the club, claiming he’s rescinding his contract and becoming a free agent.
“I give up everything I have to receive,” Willian told ESPN.
“I know my performance wasn’t what I expected, but I’ve never been a player to score 20 or 30 goals a season.”
Covering the quotes, even though UOL don’t give Fulham a mention, they claim that Willian and his family are returning to London on Saturday.
Meanwhile, other outlets continue to claim that the 34-year-old should be on his way to the Craven Cottage. Before the meeting between the player and Corinthians today, Goal had already claimed that he’d discuss the move to Fulham with the Brazilian club.
Then on Band Minas, journalist Thiago Fernandes, who also wrote Goal’s story, claimed that Willian was rescinding his contract with the Timão to join Fulham.
Since joining Corinthians last summer, the winger couldn’t impress at the club, and there was big disappointment from fans because of the status he carried when signing for them. The player and his family received many threats, and that’s pointed out as one of the reasons he chose to leave Brazil after only one year at the club.
