Since Fulham started being linked to signing Alejandro Grimaldo from Benfica, we now see what is probably the most interesting story on his future.
It’s newspaper A Bola who feature an update on his contract situation today. They say that even though the Eagles are offering something close to what the player asks, they’ve been finding some ‘resistance’ from his side to close the deal.
That’s because Grimaldo is looking at other options, especially in England. It’s said he has the ‘dream’ of playing in the Premier League, where there are a couple of clubs who are interested in him.
Fulham is one of them, with A Bola claiming there have been ‘more or less concrete’ approaches from the Whites. The problem is that the 27-year-old would rather play for a club of ‘bigger dimension’.
The newspaper says there are other approaches from Germany, Spain and Italy, but he’d like to insist a little on this move to England.
Benfica continue their talks and don’t want to lose the player for free, and their chances of keeping him haven even increased after the recent contacts. However, the player’s desire for a move to the Premier League seems big, and Fulham should take advantage of that to try to win that race, even if that takes hard work to convince him.
