Fulham star Joao Palhinha could be set for January transfer window heartbreak, as Bayern Munich aren’t pushing to get him again just yet.
That’s according to journalist Christian Falk, who says the German champions are focusing on ‘cheap solutions’ for the winter window rather than big expensive purchases.
As you’ll be more than aware by this point, Palhinha was one step away from securing a move to Bayern in the summer before Bayern cancelled the transfer on deadline day after failing to source a replacement.
The midfielder has since signed a new deal at Craven Cottage, but several reports have made it clear that a move to Bayern could still be on the cards regardless and that was not seen as impediment.
That’s because they’re still on the hunt for a number six for manager Thomas Tuchel, who has made it clear that position needs strengthening at some point.
Palhinha is believed to be his preferred target and it was even claimed that Fulham were willing to accept a cheaper deal than the one they agreed to in the summer.
But it appears that may not be cheap enough as Bayern are assessing their options, and a move for the Fulham move “isn’t really hot” at this moment in time.
“The search is still ongoing in the search for a number six, but Palhinha isn’t really hot at the moment either,” he said amid a discussion on Manchester United’s Casemiro.
“Bayern want to find cheap solutions in the winter and are looking. Distribution still has priority.”
