For the past week, the rumours linking André to Fulham had gone quiet, as the player is currently in international duty with Brazil.
It turns out that journalist Jorge Nicola comes up with very interesting updates on the situation, claiming the Whites are actually quite close to landing the midfielder.
The reporter claims that an ‘important source in the market’ called him to say Fulham are the ‘big favourites’ to sign André.
The Whites reportedly placed a €30m offer for the transfer. That was seen by Fluminense as ‘pleasing’, and the player ‘liked the project’.
That’s why the transfer is expected to get done in the ‘coming days’, and the only chance of it collapsing is in case someone comes up with a bigger bid.
Nicola points out that several clubs have been interested in André, with Manchester United being one of them, so they could show up with more money.
Still, Fulham continue to be called the favourites in this race, as they see the Brazilian as a potential replacement for João Palhinha.
Brazil play Argentina on Tuesday night in Rio de Janeiro, so André will probably just take a cab and go home from the Maracanã Stadium.
Then we should have a clearer picture of his situation.
