VfL Wolfsburg’s Kevin Mbabu has been targeted by Fulham in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old mainly operates as a right-back, but has been as right wing-back and also in the heart of the defence.
After a good start to the 2021/22 campaign with the Bundesliga side, he lost prominence there in this calendar year. Wolfsburg are open to letting him leave, which is why they have ‘reached an agreement’ with Fulham.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who explain the Cottagers agreed to pay €5.5m plus an additional €2m as potential bonus payments.
Marca Silva’s side will have to convince the player to return to the Premier League as they have not agreed personal terms with Mbabu.
Lyon’s Leo Dubois will be the main target for the German club to replace the Switzerland international, in the event he leaves Wolfsburg for Fulham.
Mbabu spent four seasons at Newcastle United between 2013 and 2017, but ended up making only three Premier League appearances for them.
