Two days ago, Lance reported Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira has requested the club sign Fulham’s Carlos Vinícius. It was also stated they are expected to open talks with the Premier League side over a potential deal.

Globo Esporte state the Brazilian club’s board of directors made contact with the 28-year-old’s agent last month, to learn the conditions needed to take him away from Fulham.

Palmeiras, who also had the forward on their agenda in 2022, have not sent an offer to Marco Silva’s side so far.

The report states ‘there is an expectation’ from the Brazilian’s camp that Palmeiras could table a proposal. In addition to this the South American club, Fenerbahçe, Olympiacos, Sevilla and Valencia have also asked for information about Vinícius.

Globo’s claim is backed up by iG Esporte, who then provide their own information on this case.

They state the Fulham player is willing to return to Brazil, and his camp are ‘waiting for an advantageous offer’, likely from Palmeiras, that will benefit both Vinícius and the London club. As things stand, there is no formal proposal on the table.

Vinícius’s deal lasts until 2025, with an option for another year. He has scored three goals from 12 games this season.
