Starting the last three games for Lille, Rui Fonte has yet to find the back of the net.

Loaned from Fulham to the French club for the season, where he is playing alongside his brother and former Southampton defender José Fonte, the Portuguese forward will have to wait a while longer to get his first goal.

During a press conference ahead of the Ligue 1 side’s weekend clash against Marseille, Christophe Galtier, relayed by L’Equipe, explained the 28-year-old will likely be out for the next two weeks with a hamstring injury, hence why he wasn’t training on Friday.

This means that as well as the match against Rudi Garcia’s side, Rui Fonte will miss the game against Saint-Etienne on October 6th, as Lille try to bounce back from their defeat against Bordeaux midweek.
