Fulham striker Rui Fonte is keen on leaving the club this summer, according to the Portuguese press.
Newspaper Record brings a story today saying the 28-year-old is one of the options that Sporting have to reinforce their attack in the last days of the transfer window.
The outlet says that Rui Fonte wants to play more, and is not confident that he will have enough minutes after the Cottagers signed Aleksandar Mitrović this summer.
That’s why the Portuguese centre-forward is now listening to offers. If a club shows him a good sporting project and guarantees that he will have the playing time he wants, then he’s open to a move.
Record claims that the talks with Sporting are still in initial stages, but since the transfer window closes tomororow, things could develop pretty quickly.
Rui Fonte has only played an EFL Cup game this season.
Signed on a €9m deal from Braga last summer, he had a record of three goals and five assists in 29 matches for Fulham in 2017-18.
