Fulham striker Luciano Vietto has reportedly found a deal to join Portuguese side Sporting on a five-year deal this summer.
It’s newspaper O Jogo who reports that the Spaniard, who’s currently loaned to the Whites by Atletico Madrid, has accepted the Lions’ offer in the ‘past few hours’.
Atletico’s deal with Sporting had been widely reported in the Portuguese press in the past few weeks, but only now Vietto has accepted the personal terms.
Since the Colchoneros have still not paid for Gelson Martins’ transfer to Madrid, they are now sending Vietto plus an amount of €20m to settle their debt with the Portuguese side.
Vietto’s chances of staying at Fulham have never been taken seriously by the Portuguese press. This time, the London side only get a mention with O Jogo saying the club don’t even take the player into account anymore.
He now wants to ‘relaunch his career’.
The 25-year-old only scored one goal and made four assists in his 22 appearances for Fulham this season.
