On Thursday morning, we covered a report from UOL which detailed Fulham’s pursuit for two Brazilian defenders. There, it was said the Whites were struggling to get Morato signed from Benfica, while Fiorentina centre-back Igor seemed to fit their budget better.

It turns out that as the Italian media now writes about this pursuit, they point out that taking the 25-year-old from La Viola would actually be a difficult task as well.

Firenze Viola first make it clear that Fulham have not made an official offer for the defender yet. And in these initial approaches, it’s been signalled that their ‘possible’ bid would be worth around €8m.

That would be a big problem, because according to the report, Fiorentina would like to make around €25m with Igor’s sale.

Now despite that big difference, the report doesn’t rule out the move. Actually, they claim that Fulham are the club who’ve shown the biggest interest, despite Villarreal and Nice also being keen.

It’s even claimed that the chances of Igor staying at Fiorentina next season are diminishing, and that makes us wonder if the Serie A side will end up giving a big discount for his departure.
