Although Braga aren’t normally a club who attract a lot of scouts from other countries, their game against Rio Ave brought several officials to their stadium last night.
One of the emissaries at the game works for Fulham, according to newspaper A Bola, although his target in this match isn’t reported.
Braga were the favourites for this clash and didn’t disappoint the home fans, winning the game 2-0, with goals scored by Paulinho and Ricardo Horta. But more players impressed for the home side, especially Pablo Santos, Nuno Sequeira and Fransérgio.
Fulham and Braga definitely have a good communication since they’ve worked on the transfer of Rui Fonte to the Portuguese side last summer.
The striker was brought on in the second half, and made an assist for the second goal, and there’s no suggestion Fulham were watching him, and no reason for them to do so.
The game also had scouts from Eintracht Frankfurt, Montpellier, Sampdoria, Atalanta, Bournemouth, Brighton and Genk.
Ricardo Horta looks like a reasonable target, although he extended his contract in September.
The 25 year old winger now has a €30m buyout clause, but it’s likely he’d be available for less.
