Fulham appear to be ahead of Leeds United in the race for VfB Stuttgart winger Silas, with a potential €8-10m deal on the cards.

That’s according to BILD, who say there is a deal there to be done and Marco Silva’s side are currently out in front.

They explain that Silas mostly played a substitute role for Stuttgart last season and is thinking about leaving this summer as a result.

There is great interest in him, with Villarreal, Fulham, Auxerre, and Lens all interested and Leeds putting him on a list of players to watch too.

Stuttgart are willing to talk if they can get a transfer fee of between €8-10m, although it’s not made clear if any of the interested parties would be willing to pay that.

Fulham would certainly be more comfortable doing so than Leeds, whose well documented financial issues will presumably make any purchases of any size difficult this summer before players are sold to help balance their books.

Thus, Marco Silva’s side would be out in front of their English counterparts for now and would perhaps be wise to move at this point before Leeds, or any of the other interested parties, start making concrete moves.
