Technically on a two-year loan with Fulham from Borussia Dortmund, André Schürrle is going to have some decision to make at the end of the season.
With the Cottagers facing relegation back down to the Championship, it seems unlikely the German will want to stick around to play in England’s second-tier, meaning a return to Germany will be on the cards in the summer.
However, according to SportBild (at the end of this slideshow), Dortmund aren’t counting on him going forward, with the magazine stating on their website the Fulham loanee ‘plays no part in the planning for the new season’.
This also applies to the other two members of the squad currently away on temporary deals: Shinji Kagawa at Besiktas and Sebastian Rode at Frankfurt.
Since joining Fulham at the start of the season, Schürrle has made 23 appearances for the Cottagers in all competitions, scoring six goals, all of which have come in the league.
