All of a sudden, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio features a strong story about the competition for Tottenham Hotspur fullback Sergio Reguilon.
On his website, it’s claimed that Fulham and Lazio are now in a battle for the player. The Biancocelesti had moved first, but after contacts ‘of the last few hours’, they ended up being ‘overtaken’ by the Craven Cottage side.
It’s said the Whites have ‘expressed interest’ in Reguilon and are now ‘in the lead’ for his signing. In that fight, they’d have on their side the player’s will, as he’d rather stay in the Premier League.
Still, Di Marzio claims Lazio are ‘still in the running’, even though they’d need to sort some ‘issues related to the player’s salary’, so their competition with Fulham should go on.
This story comes up in an interesting timing, because as covered by us earlier today, the Spanish media has been claiming that Reguilon is staying at Tottenham. AS wrote this morning that despite not being part of Antonio Conte’s plans, the player didn’t have any offers which convinced Fabio Paratici, and would stay at the club for another season.
That makes it sound like Fulham and Lazio attempts are indeed very recent, and we now wait for more developments on this case.
