Since Corinthians winger Willian started getting linked to Fulham  FC last week, the Brazilian press claimed that the club would wait until the Copa Libertadores tie against Flamengo to take a decision on his future.

Just as expected, the Timão couldn’t get the qualification for the semi-finals, and it didn’t take long until the local media confirmed that the player is likely to leave the club.

One of the reports comes from Goal. The outlet confirms that Fulham are the ‘most likely destination’ for the 34-year-old, as both he and his family would like to return to Europe this summer.

It’s said the Whites’ offer ‘pleases the player’, and since he has a clause which facilitates his move out of Brazil, he should trigger it soon.

ESPN Brasil comes up with a similar story. They claim his departure from Corinthians should happen both because of his big wages as due to the lack of adaptation from his family to Brazil.

They also claim it’s Fulham who’d like to bring him back to the Premier League.

Following the loss to Flamengo last night, Corinthians president Duilio Monteiro Alves said: “I don’t want to talk about this subject so as not to omit anything, we scheduled a conversation for after this game. Tomorrow morning we will have this conversation. If nothing changes, he has a contract until the end of next year. There is, there is (the possibility of leaving).”
