Before the start of the season, unless you were an avid watcher of Norway’s second division, the name Gift Orban won’t have meant much to you.
Now, however, the Nigerian forward has made headlines all across Europe following his great start at KAA Gent in Belgium, where he has, to date, scored 12 goals in 10 games in all competitions.
In fact, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, a few clubs in Europe are already looking at him, including Fulham in the Premier League.
The news comes amid an article looking at who could be the next Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, after the Georgia international surprised everyone with his performances at Napoli, and the striker is mentioned.
Set to face West Ham in the Conference League next, Orban is said to already be be on the transfer list of both Fulham and Bayer Leverkusen despite only arriving in Belgium on January 31st of this year.
That goes to show how much he has impressed, and perhaps why Marco Silva wants him for next season.
Having relied a lot on Aleksandar Mitrovic, Fulham could do with someone else to help them out up front, and Orban could be the ideal man, likely available at a relatively affordable price for Premier League clubs, even with his valuation described as ‘tens of millions’.
Something to keep an eye on.
