VfL Wolfsburg star Patrick Wimmer has been ended up on Fulham’s radar for the summer window.
The 23-year-old has mainly operated as an attacking midfielder this season and played as a wing-back and a striker on a few occasions. He’s managed four goals and four assists from 24 games.
Fulham have taken notice of him and are ‘chasing’ him for the next window. That’s according to Bild, who state the London club are ‘keen’ on acquiring his signature.
The Austria international has a contract until 2027 but wants to take the next step at the end of this season. The report states it’s ‘conceivable’ for him to move to the Premier League.
As well as Marco Silva’s side, Leicester City from England have the versatile player on the transfer agenda. AC Milan, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig should also be in the picture to sign Wimmer.
BVB manager Niko Kovač knows the player from his time at Wolfsburg. Leipzig managing director Marcel Schäfer was the sporting director when the German club signed him from Arminia Bielefeld in 2027.
Bild indicate Wimmer could be heading to the Premier League, where Fulham have joined the chase.
