Since joining Sampdoria from Lech Poznan in 2017, Dawid Kownacki has started only six league games so far and has no starts in Serie A this season.
According to German newspaper Rheinische Post, Fortuna Dusseldorf are interested in the striker and he’s also keen on joining the Bundesliga outfit in the winter market.
However, the deal is not straightforward as the report mentions there are several other clubs ‘interested’ in the Poland international and this includes Fulham, Empoli and Stuttgart.
Dusseldorf wanted to take the 21-year-old on loan with an option to sign, while they are also prepared to take the player without the option, while the other suitors have different financial plans to sign him.
This will come as a good news for Sampdoria because they want to drive up the price, which is why they will wait till the end of the transfer window to ‘get the best deal’ for Kownacki.
So far, Fulham are not leading the race for Kownacki but they have time until the end of this month to persuade the player to join them.
The Polish attacker’s contract with his current employer runs out in 2022.
