This week, a couple of reports from Italy talked about Fulham’s interest in Roma fullback Rick Karsdorp.
With the player said to be close to the exit door at the Serie A side due to the bad relationship with manager José Mourinho, the Whites were said to be one of the candidates for the signing, with stories even claiming the Craven Cottage side would like to spend €8m on his arrival.
But it turns out that as website Roma Giallorossa features an update on the situation today, they actually put Fulham out of the race for Karsdorp.
The outlet writes that only French clubs Lyon and Marseille are ‘alive’ in the race for the player, as the hypothesis of his move to London ‘has been denied’, since the Whites don’t want to afford Roma’s request of €10-12m.
The report also mentions the recent rumours which say Fulham are keen on the signing of Cedric Soares from Arsenal, and that’s a much cheaper option, since the Portuguese player can be signed from the Gunners for between €4m and €5m.
Other clubs ruled out of the race for Karsdorp are Lille and Torino, who can only sign the fullback on a loan.
