Joao Palhinha has insisted he is more than happy with his move to Bayern Munich, despite barely featuring since his arrival from Fulham.
The midfielder has been speaking to TZ, relayed by FCB Inside, about his happiness at Bayern after arriving in a €51m deal from Fulham in the summer.
The move had long been in the making, with the midfielder seeing a move blow up last summer on deadline day of the window.
He had completed a medical and done photoshoots but saw Fulham block the deal at the last minute as they couldn’t source a replacement.
He continued to be linked with the switch for the entirety of last season and eventually got the move this summer when Bayern returned and paid big as part of their rebuild for Vincent Kompany.
The Portugal international is yet to really get going, though, starting the season against Wolfsburg on the bench before a 16-minute appearance in the win over Freiburg.
He managed his first 90 minutes in the 6-1 win over Holstein Kiel over the weekend and when asked about his lack of minutes, insisted there’s absolutely no complaints he can make.
“I wasn’t disappointed,” he said.
“I’m at the best club in the world! This is part of a process. I can be proud. Josh (Kimmich) is like a coach. He is a friend I found here. It’s an honour to play with him.”
