According to a claim in the Italian media, Juventus have rejected Fulham’s loan request for defender Mehdi Benatia.
The Morocco international was yesterday linked with a move to the Premier League club as Claudio Ranieri looks to bolster his defensive options before next week’s transfer deadline.
TMW have today reported on the latest developments with regards to Fulham’s pursuit of Benatia and they say Juventus will not entertain a loan move, with no clause of redemption. It’s claimed the Serie A champions wouldn’t be interested in such a deal, but it’s still expected the two clubs will continue to hold talks.
With Fulham’s problems in defence this season Ranieri was hoping to bring in a player of Benatia’s experience to help in the second half of the season.
The West London club have found themselves in a relegation fight and currently have the worse defensive record in the English top flight.
Since the return of Leonardo Bonucci last summer, Benatia has struggled for games with Juventus.
