Towards the end of last month, there was a suggestion that Brighton and Fulham could emerge as candidates to land Juventus’ Alberto Costa.

Clubs such as Sporting CP, SC Braga and Galatasaray have already made contact for the defender, who arrived at Juve in the winter transfer window and hasn’t really made a mark in Turin.

It now seems as if Brighton and Fulham are firmly in the race for the full-back.

TuttoJuve have reported ‘competition is high’ for Costa, who has also attracted interest from Valencia.

The Spanish side had tried to sign the 21-year-old in January and are back on the charge for him now, as they look to sign a full-back in the summer.

The report states that Fulham and Brighton are interested in Costa and would have to pay over €15m to land him.

Juventus have not made a final decision about the player’s future but they would be interested in a sale, if the right price is offered. They will look to use the money on offer to sign a potential replacement.

Since his move in the January window, the Portuguese youngster has played eight times across all competitions.
