Catalan newspaper Sport refuse to let go of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona and have an article on the matter almost every day. The latest claims come from Sport’s correspondent in Brazil who has written a long article about an FSG meeting in Boston.
It’s claimed FSG figures, including John W Henry and Tom Werner, held a meeting with Coutinho’s family to discuss the transfer situation, with the aim being to bring the player back into the fold and get him fully committed to Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp wasn’t required at the meeting, with his role being with Coutinho in Liverpool, with Sport believing he has to repair a relationship which fell to pieces over the summer.
Shock-horror, Coutinho’s family and the player are still keen on a move to Barcelona, and FSG didn’t hear everything they wanted to. Whilst Coutinho is now accepting to play games for Klopp and Liverpool, it doesn’t mean he’s forgotten his Barcelona dream.
How predictable.
So after the big transfer meeting, everything pretty much remains the same. Same time next window.
The meeting itself seems something of a waste of time, as does FSG giving it such importance, indeed that’s if it ever actually happened.
