Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Toti Gomes may have had great hopes he’s make his international debut this time, but that didn’t happen once again.
As reported by A Bola, the 24-year-old was taken out of the squad to face Bosnia-Herzegovina on Monday evening.
The same had already happened when Portugal played Slovakia, as he was also dropped from Roberto Martinez’s options for that match.
That will be a frustration for the Wolves player, as this is the third time he goes out with the national team squad and doesn’t get a single minute on the pitch.
The difference is that during those previous fixtures of the European qualifiers, Toti had been on the bench, as he watched more experienced players hold the starting spot.
Now, even though Portugal are already qualified for the Euros, Martinez is not even giving the hope of coming on during the match.
At Wolves, Toti started the season on the bench, but ended up finding a place in the defence and started in their last two games. So he may be happy to return to Molineux following the international break.
