Enzo Fernández has revealed he has settled in well at Chelsea after going through a tough phase initially.
On Thursday, the midfielder played the full 90 minutes in the west London club’s 4-3 win over Manchester United.
After the tie, DAZN Portugal had a chat with the Chelsea star and he opened up about his situation at the English club, with A Bola relaying his comments.
The Premier League side paid in excess of £100m to sign the Argentina international from Benfica in the winter 2023 market.
Fernández featured regularly for the Blues in the second half of last season but wasn’t able to shine regularly on the pitch, managing two assists from 22 games.
The World Cup winner’s statistics have improved this season as he scored seven goals and registered four assists from 37 games.
On his early adaptation in London, he said: “The first six months weren’t easy, changing country, language, I had a child… It wasn’t easy coming here, but now everything is better, I’m more settled and enjoying it.”
Despite being settled and improving his own form, the South American has seen Mauricio Pochettino’s side struggle in the league. They are currently 10th in the table, trailing fourth placed Aston Villa by 16 points, with a game in hand.
This has certainly not pleased the player, who predicts Chelsea will improve next season.
“Of course, I’m not happy with the position we’re in, I don’t like losing, it frustrates me a little, but you have to accept this process. There are a lot of young players, and next season will be better,” Fernández explained.
