Barcelona have long been linked to Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martínez.
On the front page of Sport, it’s claimed the La Liga winners are making progress to sign the striker, but they face ‘danger’ from Chelsea.
Within the report, it’s stated there’s optimism at the Camp Nou about the potential arrival of the 22-year-old, who remains one of the major targets for next season.
Barcelona’s sporting leaders have been in constant contact with the Argentine’s environment over the past few months.
However, the Blaugrana will face ‘great danger’ from the Blues as they, along with Manchester City, are ready to break the bank with a ‘multi-million-dollar deal’ for the 22-year-old.
According to the newspaper, the irruption of the Premier League sides has become the ‘main problem’ for the Catalan club to sign the South American.
Manchester United were interested in Martínez, but he has already rejected an approach made by the Red Devils.
However, his entourage is indeed listening to approaches made by Chelsea and City, and Sport adds one of these two clubs have presented a ‘totally off-market offer’.
Martínez has a release clause of €111m that is valid from July 1st to 15th. That figure remains the reference point throughout the summer because Inter have no plans to offer any discounts.
Barcelona view those figures as too high and they are ready to offer Arturo Vidal to lower the fee for Martínez.
With Chelsea and City posing threat to Barcelona, it remains to be seen if the Camp Nou side can convince Martínez to join them over two English clubs.
