Towards the end of last week, Oliver Glasner spoke to the Austrian media, and shared some of the frustration he’s been feeling after Crystal Palace’s tough start to the season.
The manager had a great start to life in the Premier League, but things have been very different in this campaign and it’s clearly been getting to him.
Glasner explained that he feels several factors have been playing against Crystal Palace’s fortunes in the current campaign, and he also went on to say (see below) that expectations around the Eagles right now are simply unrealistic when compared to the club’s recent history rather than just the end of last season.
Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung take a look at it today, and they say Glasner returned to his home country for a break during the international period.
However, many who came across him found him to be distracted, like his body was there but his mind very much consumed by Crystal Palace difficulties.
Glasner is quoted as saying: “That is the fate of football coaches, that your thoughts are always with your team, especially in a situation like ours.”
Crystal Palace face Nottingham Forest on Monday evening, in a match which could help change their recent mood.
