Obbi Oularé’s performances for Club Brugge during the 2014/15 season convinced Watford to sign the striker in the summer of 2015.

The 24-year-old made only three appearances for the Hornets in all competitions in his debut campaign and was then sent on loan the following three seasons.

His association with the Premier League side ended last summer when he joined Standard Liège.

Oularé’s progress has been hindered due to multiple injuries he picked up over the years and DH in Belgium interviewed some of his friends to get to know their point of view on the player’s career.

Luca Michel and Oularé began their friendship at FC Brussels and the former admitted the Belgian moved to England too early in his career. Oularé was 19 when he arrived at Vicarage Road.

“I already said to him: ‘You hit between 10 and 15 goals and you go back to England to win.’ He was too young when he left for the UK in 2015,” Michel explained.

Amoros Ndabanez, another friend, wants the frontman to return to the Premier League to send a message to Watford.

“I would like him to go back to the Premier League to prove that they (Watford) were wrong not to trust him,” Ndabanez said.

Oularé has two goals in 15 appearances in all competitions for Standard Liège and he needs to step up his game, if he’s to fulfil his friend’s wish.
