The race for the signing of Torino defender Gleison Bremer is this week explained by Italian outlet FC Inter News, who list the many clubs who are chasing the 24-year-old.
One of those sides are said to be Tottenham Hotspur, who despite the long-time links with the player, are now said to have another special reason to bring him to the squad.
According to the story, Bremer was ‘warmly recommended’ to Spurs boss Antonio Conte by his friend Gianluca Petrachi, who used to be a director at Roma until a couple of years ago.
That’s why Tottenham are said to be in a battle which includes the likes of Inter Milan, Napoli, Milan, Juventus and Bayern Munich.
Inter Milan recently expected to sign the defender for €20-25m with perhaps other counterparts involved. Now they know he’s leaving Torino for a lot more, especially with a new contract signed.
FC Inter News says Torino president Urbano Cairo wants to make €30m with the move, and is happy with the auction that is about to come.
