Beto is pushing to leave Everton in the January transfer window and return to Italy, where he has several admirers.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Calcio Mercato, who say that the striker is unhappy with a lack of playing time at Everton once again this season.
The newspaper reports that with Beto set to turn 27 in January he has made the decision to leave Everton after a season and a half of barely featuring under Sean Dyche.
He’s pushing to return to Serie A and has offered himself to Torino. They, though, are not the only ones to have lined him up.
In fact, there are ‘many teams’ in Italy that believe they would benefit from the addition of a ‘physically strong, fast striker with a keen eye for goal’ and a history of getting them in Serie A.
Juventus have also been credited with an interest by Gazzetta dello Sport, as they’re looking for a deputy to for Dusan Vlahovic. Their director of football Cristiano Giuntoli was already interested in the striker when he was at Napoli.
Any deal will depend on Everton, who will have to take a hit on the striker of around €10m. The belief is that his value has dropped from €30m to €20m since his arrival in 2023.
On that front, Tuttosport claim that incoming new owners the Friedkins have agreed to let Beto leave on loan for six months so that he can ‘revalue himself’ and then be sold on. They want to protect the striker rather than see his value decrease further.
It is that willingness, plus Beto’s desire to leave, which is now pushing the transfer interest, and the striker will be one of the names to keep an eye on in January as a result.
