Franco Vazquez moved to Sevilla from Palermo in the summer 2016 transfer window and the attacking midfielder is very happy with his life.
He’s been linked with endless other clubs, one of those being West Ham.
In the summer transfer window, we covered claims from both Italy and Spain that the Hammers were keen on the South American. There was even talk of an official offer being submitted to Sevilla, who will always consider bids of a tempting amount.
Vazquez was seen as a potential replacement for Manuel Lanzini, who had suffered a long term injury at the Premier League club.
The 29 year old stayed where he is and has 19 appearances in La Liga so far this season. That’s added to six in the Europa League and four in the Copa del Rey, so he’s certainly a very used member of the Sevilla squad.
Speaking to the club’s official TV channel, in comments carried by Estadio Deportivo, Vazquez was asked about offers he’s received to leave.
He brought up the Hammers himself: “I knew of the interest of other clubs like West Ham, but since the coach was counting on me, I decided to stay. My idea has always been to stay here, my wife and my family are already adapted to Seville.”
