Wolves ‘remain interested’ in signing Goncalo Guedes, report L’Equipe on Wednesday.

The French newspaper aren’t as wild with rumours as their counterparts in Italy, so it’s an eyebrow raising claim.

L’Equipe have an article on Guedes and a proposed move to Valencia this summer. The Portuguese forward spent last season at the Spanish club and rebuilt his reputation.

Five goals and nine assists in 33 La Liga appearances, mainly playing on the left, were enough to push Valencia to move for a permanent signing.

The problem has arisen with PSG wanting €60m for the 21 year old, and L’Equipe think this has killed the chance. It’s stated Guedes ‘will not be sold to Valencia this summer’, because they ‘can’t afford’ that amount of money and have only offered €40m.

PSG don’t want to loan the youngster out but ‘by the end of August they may have changed their mind’.

Wolves prop up the article with the claim they’re interested.

It would be a surprise signing, if only for the figures involved, and Wolves would surely also be against going as high as €60m, unless there’s an impending sale nobody knows about.

The only conceivable way it’d work for all involved is a loan with some sort of commitment to sign next summer, perhaps based on appearances and/or achievements.

Maybe uncle Jorge has a plan.

Meanwhile, Superdeporte, Valencia’s local sport newspaper, report the Spanish club don’t believe threats from PSG. The player’s will is to return to Los Che and the club’s closest media say claims from PSG of pushing Guedes towards the Premier League haven’t convinced.
