This January transfer window is seeing groups of Premier League clubs continually linked with the same players.
More so than in previous markets, there’s endless claims of multiple English clubs being interested in the same signings. This could either be a natural progression of using statistics in player identification, meaning the same players are often going to be chased, or agents trying their luck over a move to the big money.
On Tuesday, Le10 Sport report West Ham, Watford and Newcastle United have all ‘indicated their interest’ in an Amiens player.
That man is Prince Gouano, a 26 year old defender who is also captain of the Ligue 1 side.
He’s been in English football previously, having been loaned from Atalanta to Bolton Wanderers in 2015.
West Ham, Watford and Newcastle all ‘plan action’ over Gouano in January, which presumably means they’re going to do something about their interest rather than continue watching until the summer.
Given the player’s contract expires in 2021, now is the time for Amiens to think about a renewal or sale.
