Brentford have seen an ‘enormous’ offer of €15m rejected by Freiburg for winger Kevin Schade.

That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenburg, who says the Bees will have to up their efforts to sign ‘one of the fastest players’ in the Bundesliga.

Schade has been quietly impressing in Germany over the last few years, first managing eight goals and five assists in 26 games in the Regionalliga Southwest in 2020/21 before stepping up to the Bundesliga last season.

A tally of four goals and one assist in Germany’s top flight and seven and two in all competitions was not to be sniffed at and has seemingly earned him interest from the Premier League.

According to Plettenburg, Brentford are keen on the ‘very talented’ youngster and have seen an ‘enormous’ offer of €15m rejected by Freiburg.

He does not hint whether Thomas Frank’s side will be making a second offer, just that they’ve seen their first one for the winger rejected.

Freiburg, it seems, are not keen on losing the forward just yet and have no need to sell as he’s tied down to a deal until 2026 after signing a new contract in November last year.

€15m is certainly a big offer for a player currently valued at less than half of that by the likes of Transfermarkt, though, so it does hint the Bees are extremely keen on signing him.

We’re sure more information will be forthcoming in the near future, and Schade’s name could be one to keep an eye on for Brentford moving forwards.
