Rangers aren’t really so covered in the European media, or at least hadn’t been until Steven Gerrard took over as manager of the club.
When Rangers returned to the Scottish Premiership there was some fanfare, with the matches against Celtic always a pull around the world. Then when Pedro Caixinha was in charge the club got some coverage in Mexico and Portugal, but it’s mainly been quiet since.
Rangers beating Kilmarnock at the weekend, thanks to a goal from the departing David Bates, didn’t reverberate around Europe, but now there’s some interest in what Gerrard’s plans are at Ibrox.
The French outlet say Vignal, already in a coaching position at Rangers, could be set for a very quick promotion. The Frenchman will know Gerrard from his Liverpool days, and could bring some more experience to the Ibrox set-up.
