At this moment in time, no one is really sure who the next Sunderland manager will be, but there has been growing speculation it could be Will Still.
A report from Belgium on Tuesday claimed the Stade de Reims manager had been contacted by Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and held talks with him, adding he was thinking about the possible switch, which was followed by some reports compensation would be needed to get him out of the Ligue 1 club.
Now, Jeunes Footeux bring their information to the table, claiming they have reached out directly to a source at the French side to ask about the possibility of Still heading to Sunderland.
They immediately refused to directly comment on what they classed as ’rumours’, and added that the idea of the manager leaving is ‘not topical’.
As the website point out, the answer ‘isn’t really convincing’, and it’s clearly a ‘very sensitive’ topic over in Reims at this moment in time.
For now, it seems Sunderland will have to continue working on fully convincing Still to move to the Stadium of Light, and if he does eventually entirely agree to it, find the money to buy out his contract at the Ligue 1 side.
