It appears that Manchester United are strongly going after Mauricio Pochettino, and they want him now.

The Premier League side are without a manager after dismissing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over the weekend following a 4-1 loss to Watford, and while the general message was that an interim would see them through to the end of the season, the Argentine’s desire to manage at Old Trafford could change that.

Foot Mercato on Monday made it clear that contact had been established between the former Tottenham manager and Manchester United, with more details coming on on Tuesday.

Santi Aouna, who works for the French website, took to Twitter to deliver the latest news, reporting that the Red Devils ‘have let Pochettino know they are ready to pay compensation to get him’.

However, ‘Paris will let him go if they have a replacement lined up’, with Zinédine Zidane being the ‘number one choice’.

Furthermore, the agent of the former France international ‘would like to see him’ at the Ligue 1 club, which would see him manage a club other than Real Madrid (or Castilla) for the first time.
