Jesse Lingard’s future has again been the subject of claims during the January transfer window, after he returned from his loan move at West Ham last summer.
The player had a good period whilst with the Hammers, and some assumed that a return to David Moyes’ side would be on the cards after the loan ended.
For whatever reason, that wasn’t the case and Lingard has struggled to find an important role at Manchester United. That’s been both under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick, and so talk of a transfer started again.
Newcastle United have been repeatedly linked in recent days, as the Magpies look for additions who can help them avoid the drop to the Championship. A Monday report from Foot Mercato mentions Newcastle interest, and also that from West Ham.
However, their big update on the story is that Nice are also keen. The Ligue 1 side have considered Lingard before and are now tempted again.
Their big problem would be the finances of a deal, although it’s not thought that a move is completely out of the question, so Nice could look to beat Premier League competition to Lingard.
