France’s L’Equipe are reporting on Thursday evening that Nabil Fekir moving to Liverpool has taken a step forward.

Despite Lyon’s president Jean-Michel Aulas earlier talking down a move being close, there appears to have been a big step forward.

The French newspaper say Fekir is now ‘steps from Liverpool’ and must squeeze in a medical before the France national team leaves for Russia, that gives him a brief window to do so, with L’Equipe saying it must be completed by tomorrow.

The claim is coming from one of the newspaper’s English sources, say L’Equipe, and whilst the figures haven’t been revealed an agreement has been made between the clubs.

Regardless of the fee not being available at this stage, it’s assumed the price Lyon receive will be around the €60m mark which has been spoken about since the beginning of the rumour.

Fekir has also agreed to the move and now there’s just the medical and paperwork.
