Judging by Arsenal’s squad ahead of the new season, Mathieu Debuchy could very well be on his way out of London.

The French right-back, who played against Viking FK as Arsenal beat the Norwegian team 8-0, has been linked with a move back to Bordeaux (where he spent the second half of last season on loan) and Galatasaray.

So far, neither of those clubs have bought the former Lille star off Arsène Wenger, and it seems there’s only one team left in the race, as explained by Bordeaux’s new manager, Jocelyn Gourvennec.

Speaking to La Dépêche, he said: “Debuchy? I always said that I really appreciate him; after that, financially, compared to English clubs, it’s impossible.”

A couple of weeks ago, we relayed a brief article from Le Parisien stating negotiations were in progress, with the player happy to make the move permanent, but these unfortunately seem to have fallen through.

The 31-year-old made nine appearances for Bordeaux following his loan move, adding to the brief seven made for Arsenal during the first-half of the season.
