A lot was expected from Zlatan Ibrahimovic when he arrived at Manchester United this summer, after scoring 50 goals for Paris-Saint Germain last season.
The Swedish star ended his mini goal-drought against Swansea in Manchester United’s last match, but continues to face criticism from certain sections of the media and fans.
Former France striker Christophe Dugarry has been speaking to RMC Sport about a few of the best forwards in Europe, but he believes the 35-year-old isn’t one of them.
He said: “For me, Zlatan isn’t a great player. I’ve said it over 200 million times. Because for me, with very great players, you never have problems and they make others better.
200 million times? That sounds a bit harsh on Ibrahimovic, who was key to Paris-Saint Germain’s domestic success in the last few years.
The Swedish striker has 8 goals to his name in 17 appearances for Manchester United, which certainly isn’t bad, but isn’t great either for a player of his reputation.
Ibrahimovic is set to miss Arsenal’s trip to Manchester United through suspension, and would certainly be disappointed to miss such an important fixture after scoring in his last outing.
