Tuesday afternoon has seen continual hints from France that Dani Alves has chosen to sign for PSG over Manchester City. Websites run by PSG fans have been pushing the idea, making mock-ups of a welcome image for the Brazilian, and social media hints have been going into overdrive.

Now, FootMercato have decided they’ll be the first to step forward and attempt to take the glory, saying Alves has chosen PSG. A two year contract is said to await Alves at the Ligue 1 club, and, if the claims are true, Manchester City may well feel they’ve been led on somewhat by the player.

Alves left Juventus at the end of last season, and the club agreed to terminate the player’s contract. Despite a good time in Turin it didn’t feel like he left on good terms, and the same was the case when the fullback departed Barcelona a year ago.

Manchester City quickly need to add in the fullback department, or Pep Guardiola is going to have to get even more creative in where he positions footballers.
